Young Conservatives of Texas Endorse Canon for State Senate

The Young Conservatives of Texas have endorsed former Midland mayor Mike Canon in his bid for Texas Senate, District 31.

Canon, a Midland attorney, announced this week that he has earned the support of the organization in his bid to unseat incumbent Senator Kel Seliger (R-Amarillo). Canon said that he is pleased to have the orgainzation's endorsement in this election.

"For years, [Young Conservatives of Texas] has fought against liberal policies and for conservative values and won," Canon wrote on Facebook. "With so much at stake in this election, it is encouraging to have the support of one of Texas' most reputable conservative organizations."

Canon is running against Seliger and Amarillo restaurant owner Victor Leal in the March 6th Republican primary for the 31st District State Senate seat. The winner of the Republican nomination will face Libertarian Jack Westbrook in November.
