One person has been hospitalized following a crash with a semi truck.
Amarillo Police report that officers were dispatched early Tuesday morning on the report of a crash in the 700 block of South Lakeside. When officers arrived, they found a 2013 Kia SUV driven by Joe Earl Watts, 57, had been northbound on Lakeside. Watts rear ended a 2008 Great Dane box trailer being pulled by a 2013 Kenworth tractor. The Kenworth was being driven by Abedmelbk Selase, 54, of Dallas.
Watts was extracted from the Kia and transported to an Amarillo hospital with what is reported to be life-threatening injuries.
APD's Traffic Investigation Squad in investigating the incident.
