A Muleshoe man is being charged with Aggravated Kidnapping and capital murder after a high-speed car chase ended in Lubbock on Friday.
According to the EverythingLubbock, Lucio Gollo Camacho, 46, was arrested Friday after leading police on a high speed chase that ended at Slaton Highway and Zenith Avenue early on Friday morning. Authorities say that Camacho stabbed a woman in Bailey County and put her body in the back of his truck. Camacho also took the woman's 3-year-old child with him. Camacho is unrelated to the child, authorities say.
Police say that Camacho arrived in Post early Friday morning and tried to steal a weapon from an officer at the Dalby Prison Unit. Camacho then got in his truck and authorities initiated a pursuit.
The Lubbock Sheriff's Office set up a roadblock that stopped Camacho during the chase. Officers then found the woman dead in Camacho's truck and the child was uninjured.
Camacho's relationship to the woman has not yet been revealed by authorities. The victim has been identified as Oralia Granados.
EverythingLubbock.com reported on Friday that Camacho will be charged on evading, resisting arrest, and abandonment of a child. Other charges are also pending.
