Man Killed in Lubbock Home Explosion

One man has died following the explosion of a home in Northwest Lubbock.

According to authorities, Herschel Potts, 25, died following an explosion at a home in the 5600 block of 8th Place in Lubbock. Lubbock firefighters were called to the home on Friday, December 29th and were alerted to flames coming from the garage of the home.

The Lubbock Fire Marshal's Office told reporters over the weekend that the cause of the fire was a gas leak that caused an explosion in the attic of the home. The source of the leak is currently under investigation.
