Senator Ted Cruz was in Amarillo on Halloween night, making his last stop in Amarillo before Election Day.
On November 6th, Cruz is hoping voters will choose him for another term in the U.S. Senate. But, on Halloween night, the Republican firebrand’s sights were locked firmly on El Paso Democrat Beto O’Rourke, one of his two challengers. Cruz attempted to draw a contrast between himself and O’Rourke on issues like healthcare during his half-hour stop in Amarillo.
“Where is Beto O’Rourke on healthcare,” Cruz asked the Amarillo crowd. “He’s voted to keep ObamaCare sixty-seven different times. But, he doesn’t think that’s enough. He wants to go a step even further to full on socialized medicine.”
Cruz also attacked O’Rourke on issues like immigration during his speech. But, leaving his supporters with a rallying cry, the Republican attempting to inspire his supporters in the last minutes of his Amarillo campaign address.
“We are going to win this race,” Cruz said. “This is Texas and in Texas, it’s in our DNA to defend liberty.”
Cruz is currently running for re-election to the U.S. Senate against O’Rourke and Libertarian Neal Dikeman. Voters will decide this race on November 6th.
