Bomb Threats Target Lubbock, Plainview

Emailed bomb threats were made this week to locations in Lubbock and Plainview, but authorities say the threats are not believed to be credible.

According to KCBD-TV, the bomb threats in Lubbock, Plainview and Levelland have followed a national string of threats, in which individuals have emailed threats and demanded payment in Bitcoin. South Plains Rural Health Services in Levelland received a threat, according to the station, and the City of Plainview also announced threats had been made toward local businesses. Lubbock Police also say threats have been made toward businesses there.

Officials say the threats are not believed to be credible. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives has been notified.
