Governor's Commission Seeks Women's Hall of Fame Nominations

Governor Greg Abbott announced on Friday that his Texas Governor’s Commission for Women is seeking nominations for the Texas Women's Hall of Fame.

Beginning on Friday, Abbott announced that his office is seeking nomination for the prestigious Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is open to all women who are residents or natives of Texas, living or deceased, who have made a significant impact on Texas.

In a statement, Abbott said that the women who are inducted into the Hall of Fame serves as role models for the young women who will serve Texas as leaders in various fields.

"The Texas Women’s Hall of Fame recognizes and celebrates Texas women not only for their individual achievements, but also for their contributions to the strength of the Lone Star State,” said Governor Greg Abbott. “These extraordinary women serve as examples and role models for all Texans as they continue to inspire the next generation of young women who will go on to lead in fields such as business, education, philanthropy, public service and the arts and sciences. I look forward to this year’s class of nominees and another chance to recognize all the incredible accomplishments of Texas women.”

A permanent display of the Hall of Fame is located at Texas Woman’s University in Denton.

Nominations to the Hall of Fame are due by Friday, April 27th at 5pm.
