The Amarillo Police Department is investigating a fatal hit and run that took place over the weekend.
According to APD, on Sunday morning, officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of East Amarillo Boulevard on a report of a motor vehicle striking two pedestrians and fleeing the scene. Lucila Trevino, 58, of Friona, was pronounced dead at the scene. Jose Grado, 43, of Friona, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officers say that the suspect vehicle in this case is believed to be a four-door black passenger car. The car was possibly a Ford Crown Victoria or something with a similar body style.
