Deputies with the Potter County Sheriff's Office seized marijuana plants and firearms on Monday.
According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop at Dumas Highway and Cliffside on Monday, looking for a wanted felon out of Missouri. The occupant of the vehicle told authorities that the person was at a residence in the 11000 block of El Rancho Road.
Deputies went to the residence on El Rancho and met with the owner, Aaron Justice, 34. Justice gave consent to search the residence for the wanted person, Barry Presley, 64. Deputies searched the residence and found Presley in a closet that also contained an active marijuana grow with multiple plants. The Potter County Special Operations Division then obtained a warrant to seize the plants and searched the rest of the residence for other contraband.
During the search, Justice was found to be in possession of an illegal shotgun, another firearm and THC products. Presley claimed ownership of the seized marijuana plants.
Justice was booked into the Potter County Detention Center for 2nd Degree Felony Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2 between 4 and 400 grams, Possession of Firearm by Felon, and Possession of Prohibited Weapon.
Presley was also booked into the Potter County Detention Center for an outstanding felony warrant for Burglary out of Missouri, and for Possession of Marijuana between 4oz and 5lbs.
Officials are still investigating this incident.
