Amarillo Matters spent the month of February raising money, ahead of the March 6th Republican primary election.
The organization's report, filed with the Texas Ethics Commission, shows Amarillo Matters pulling in about $32,000 over the month of February. The majority of the group's donations came from previous donors to Amarillo Matters, including attorney Alan Rhodes, Ralph Ellis and Michael Hughes.
Amarillo Matters also reported about $1,200 in donations from corporations, namely its 501(c)4 branch.
On the spending side, Amarillo Matters reported spending $40,326.76, also incurring another $29,000 in unpaid obligations. The top expenditures were for consulting services and advertising expenses that benefited Senator Kel Seliger and Representative Four Price's re-election bids.
In a pre-election report filed on February 27th, Amarillo Matters also reported pulling in $13,000 from the Associated Republicans of Texas committee.
The group is required to continue filing pre-election reports ahead of the upcoming primary election. Voters will decide all of these contested races in the March 6th Republican primary election.
