Price, Aided by PACs, Outraises Brassfield in Second Reporting Period

Incumbent State Representative Four Price (R-Amarillo) is still bringing in the campaign contributions as he seeks re-election against Fritch city manager Drew Brassfield.

During the most recent financial reporting period of the election season, Price reported bringing in $81,419.26. Several of Price's individual contributions came from political action committees and Price also benefited from unitemized spending by Amarillo Matters PAC. However, Price did not report being supported by the downtown-heavy group.

For Brassfield, he raised much less and focus more on spending efforts during the reporting period. Brassfield brought in just shy of $3,000 with an in-kind donation of $2,800.00 from Texans for Fiscal Responsibility. Brassfield's campaign also spent about $4,500. Price spent about $82,000.

At the end of the period, Price held a hair over $575,000 in the bank. Brassfield reported a balance of about $27,000 on hand.

The winner of the Republican nomination will likely take the seat as no third party candidates or Democrats have filed to run in 2018. Voters will decide the race in the March 6th Republican primary.
