The Amarillo Police Department says that untrue rumors are circulating about an officer in the department.
According to information from the Amarillo Police Department, a flyer that has been posted at certain local convenience stores and on Facebook contains rumors that are untrue regarding an officer who works for the department. The flyer told Amarillo residents that an officer was under investigation for multiple crimes and that if a person had any information about this officer, they would be asked to call the Amarillo Police Department.
Officials from APD say that the officer is not under investigation and that the allegations printed on the flyers are untrue.
The origin of the flyer is currently under investigation.
