An updated version of the Blueprint for Amarillo is set as an item for Tuesday's meeting of the Amarillo City Council.
On Tuesday, City Councilmembers will consider approving the updated 2018 version of the Blueprint for Amarillo. As in the copy approved by the previous Amarillo City Council, the plan has a focus on where Amarillo should be on multiple fronts. Among the topics covered in the blueprint are: public safety, economic development and redevelopment, civic pride, highly educated population, fiscal responsibility, customer service, excellence in communication and transportation. Information in the document comes from information collected by staff at several City events.
Also on Tuesday, the Council will consider reauthorizing a grant program with Amarillo Housing First, approving multiple rezoning ordinances and the purchase of outdoor sirens. Councilmembers will also receive an update over construction of the downtown baseball stadium during a work session.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 20th in the Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (509 Southeast 7th Avenue). The meeting will begin at 5pm, following a 4pm work session.
