Senator Ted Cruz will visit West Texas A&M University next week as part of his campaign for re-election to the U.S. Senate.
Cruz's campaign announced this week that the senator will be in Canyon at the First United Bank Center on Wednesday, April 4th. During the event, Cruz plans to speak to area residents and local leaders regarding agriculture issues facing Texas and the Texas Panhandle.
This event will mark Cruz's first appearance in Amarillo since winning the Republican nomination for his seat in the March 6th Republican primary. Cruz is currently campaigning to face Democratic challenger, Beto O'Rourke, in the November general election.
Admission to the event is free. The festivities kick off at noon.
