Four Texas Tech Football Stars Arrested in Lubbock

Four football players from the Texas Tech University athletics program have been arrested.

Over the weekend, four Texas Tech football players were arrested during a reported disturbance in front of a Lubbock nightclub. Quarterback candidate Jett Duffey, linebacker Christian Taylor, defensive back Desmon Smith and wide receiver Quan Shorts were all arrested by officials during the incident on Sunday. Duffey was charged with damaging property at an apartment complex and Taylor was arrested for allegedly punching a vehicle's window. Smith and Shorts were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct after a crowd formed following Taylor's arrest.

Smith was reportedly bitten by a K-9 and was sent to a local hospital. Smith was treated and then arrested.

On Monday, Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury announced that the four players had been suspended indefinitely. The players who were arrested will also be punished internally, according to reports.
