Bernie Sanders to Appear in Lubbock Saturday

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) will be appearing at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center on Saturday.

It was announced over the weekend that Sanders will be appearing at the Lubbock Civic Center Banquet Hall on Saturday, March 10th. Sanders is appearing at the event held by Our Revolution Texas, along with special guests Nina Turner, president of Our Revolution Texas, and Jim Hightower, former Texas commissioner of agriculture.

Sanders is an independent United States Senator from the state of Vermont. Sanders gained notoriety in 2016 when he ran as a Democrat for President of the United States, and finished second in the party's delegate count behind former secretary of state Hillary Clinton. Sanders advocated a democratic socialist platform and was powered to victory in multiple primary contests by youth voters.

The appearance in Lubbock will begin at 1pm at the Lubbock Civic Center. Cost of admission is $5.
