City of Lubbock Asks Residents to Pick Up Trash

The City of Lubbock is asking residents to consider picking up ten pieces of trash every week.

On Thursday, Mayor Dan Pope and other Lubbock officials held a press conference, in which they unveiled the new 10 on Tuesday program for the city. The program asks residents to keep Lubbock clean by picking up ten pieces of trash every Tuesday.

Mayor Dan Pope said that he feels that the program will be cost effective way for the City of Lubbock to clean up its streets.

“Every year, tons of trash and debris are collected throughout our city along fences, curbs, gutters, landscapes, below in the playa lakes,” Pope said. “This effort would prevent some of that and would allow us to live in a place that’s more visually pleasing.”

Those who would like to participate are asked to visit https://mylubbock.us/departmental-websites/departments/keep-lubbock-beautiful/projects/10onTuesday to sign up.
