Texas Baseball Teams Take Different Routes in Season Kickoff

Both of Texas' major league baseball teams are taking vastly different directions in the standings following the kickoff of the 2018 MLB season.

After opening day, both Texas teams are working for their spot in the postseason. The world champion Houston Astros are currently leading the American League West with a record of 3-1, tied with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Meanwhile, the Texas Rangers are pulling up the back of the division, running at 1-3, tied for dead last with the Oakland Athletics.

All four games for the Rangers, thus far, have been played on the road, while Houston has been able to play at home to start the season.

However, while some may not be thrilled with the Rangers' contributions to the standings, they are not the worst team in baseball following the start of the season. The Cincinnati Reds, the San Diego Padres and the Kansas City Royals are all currently running winless for the season, as of Monday's press time.
