Texas Panhandle Pioneer Anne Christian Passes

Anne Christian has passed away at the age of 84.

Christian was an Claude resident who, along with her husband, Tom Christian, was influential in the creation of Cowboy Morning. Christian served as president of Cowboy Morning and served on the boards of multiple organizations, including, the Amarillo Convention and Visitor’s Council, Texas Travel Industry Association Board and the Armstrong County Museum. Christian also served as co-chair of the Charles Goodnight House Restoration and creation of Charles Goodnight Historical Center in Goodnight, Texas.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church, Claude with the George Price, District Superintendent, Abilene officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Charles Goodnight Historical Center, in care of Armstrong County Museum, P O Box 450, Claude, TX 79019 – Anne Christian Memorial, according to Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
