Amarillo taxpayers may get a better idea next week of what their school property taxes will look like for the upcoming year.
On Monday, Amarillo Independent School District trustees will propose the tax rate for the upcoming fiscal year, according to an agenda posted for the meeting. The rate is expected to rise, as voters approved a bond package in November for AISD, but it is unclear whether trustees intend to raise the rate above that increase. Taxpayers currently pay a rate of $1.189 per $100 property valuation to the school district.
In addition, trustees will discuss elections to the AISD Board, AISD's medical plan and the Student Code of Conduct for 2018-2019.
Trustees will meet on Monday, May 21st at 6pm in the Board Room of the Amarillo ISD Education Support Center (7200 Interstate 40 West).
