Amarillo ISD Board to Talk Teacher Stipends, Proposed Tax Rate

Amarillo Independent School District Trustees will discuss a number of issues during their regularly scheduled board meeting next week.

On Monday, August 19th, the Board of Trustees will consider adopting an order for the District’s 2019-2020 property tax rate. The Board will also consider adopting a budget amendment to the current fiscal year’s budget and will consider approving an order to grant every teacher, counselor, nurse, and librarian in AISD a $125 stipend to purchase student supplies.

During the meeting, the board will also welcome its two newest members, Kayla Mendez and David Nance, both of whom were recently appointed to fill vacant school board positions. Board members will also consider appointing members to various tax incentive boards.

The meeting will be held at 6PM in the Board Room of the AISD Education Support Center (7200 Interstate 40 West).
