Clarendon's Johnson Signs with WTAMU

Clarendon native Marshal Johnson will be playing basketball for West Texas A&M University next year.

This week, it was announced by WTAMU head coach Tom Brown that Marshal Johnson has signed on to play basketball for the 2018-2018 season. Johnson is the fourth signee for the upcoming season, being added to the roster for the team, which went 32-4 this season.

In a statement, Brown praised Johnson, calling him a "grinder" and someone who will be a team player.

"Marshal is someone who doesn't need the spotlight to be an effective member of the Buff Family," Brown said. "He will do the little things, take a charge, box out, communicate and run the floor, to make himself and his teammates better.  He is going to expand his game as he played mostly inside at Clarendon High School."

At Clarendon, Johnson, a 6-5 forward, averaged 14.3 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per game, shooting 64.9 percent from the floor.
