Zada Swoopes made history on Saturday.
According to West Texas A&M University, Swoopes, a WTAMU freshman, won the National Shot Put title on Saturday at the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Irwin Belk Complex in Charlotte, North Carolina. Swoopes earned the title with a personal best 16.52m throw. The win marked the first time in program history that a Lady Buff has won a national shot put title.
