Amarillo Police Investigating Attempted Burglary

The Amarillo Police Department is currently in the process of investigating an attempted burglary that occurred this week.

According to APD, officers were called to a residence in the 4400 block of Evelyn Street on June 20th on the report of shots fired. Officers say victims at the residence heard their garage door open and the male victim went to the garage to confront a suspect he saw on the driveway. The suspect then ran away and fired multiple shots, striking a parked truck in the driveway. The truck belonged to the victim and the victims were uninjured.

Later that day, an officer saw two males walking in the area of Ridgecrest and Western Street. When the officer attempted to make contact with the males, they ran into a nearby apartment and were not located. Both males were described as being about six feet tall, wearing dark sweatshirts, pants and back packs.

If you have any information on this case, you are asked to call the Amarillo Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 806-374-4400. Anonymous tips can also be submitted on www.amapolice.org.
