Amarillo Constable Estrada Wins Statewide Award

One local constable has picked up an honor from a statewide organization.

On Thursday, Constable Georgia Estrada was named Constable of the Year by the Justices of the Peace and Constables Association of Texas. The award was presented at the organization's 74th annual conference in College Station.

Estrada is a constable for precinct two in Potter County. In addition to Estrada, the county has three other constables, each of whom is tasked with serving as a peace officer for the county. Some of a constable's duties include: issuing traffic citations, serving as the bailiff of the justice of the peace court and serving warrants and civil papers.
