The Amarillo Police Department has confirmed that bones found in North Amarillo are those of an animal.
According to APD, officers were dispatched on June 24th to a site where items believed to be bones were discovered in the 1300 block of Northwest 10th Avenue. The APD Crime Scene Investigation Unit dug for 18 hours and located several bones in the back yard of the residence.
Officials say the bones were examined locally and at the University of North Texas. The bones are believed to be from animal remains.
