Former State Senator Wendy Davis saw her campaign fined this week for issues dealing with delayed disclosures.
According to the Texas Tribune, Davis, a Fort Worth Democrat, agreed to pay a $3,000 fine imposed by the Texas Ethics Commission this week. The fines stemmed back from disclosures in the 2014 election, when Davis was defeated by Republican Greg Abbott in the race for governor.
Additionally, Battleground Texas, a group created to help support Democrats on the Texas ballot, also agreed to pay a fine. Officials say Davis and Battleground Texas held joint fundraisers through the Texas Victory Committee in 2013, although those contributions were allegedly not disclosed by either Davis or Battleground Texas until March of 2014.
