Downtown Design Standards Board Considering Authorizing New Sign

The Downtown Amarillo Urban Design Review Board is considering authorizing a variance request during a meeting this week.

On Thursday, officials will consider granting a variance request to allow the placement of a sign with 48 percent of the sign face devoted to a changeable copy. Current regulations in downtown Amarillo only allow for signs to have no more than 25 percent of the face dedicated to a changeable copy.

According to TootnTotum.com, 1115 S. Taylor is the address of Toot 'n Totum's Human Resources office. It is unclear whether the variance request is coming directly from Toot 'n Totum, as the agenda posted for the meeting does not list the name of the applicant.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, July 5th in Room 275 of the Simms Building (808 South Buchanan). The meeting will begin at 5:30pm.
