"South Pacific" will be returning to the silver screen in Amarillo later this month.
On August 26th and August 29th, "South Pacific" will return to the big screen in Amarillo for its 60th anniversary since its original theatrical release. The 1958 film is based on a Rodgers and Hammerstein musical of the same name and tells the story of an American nurse who falls in love with a Frenchman on an island in the South Pacific during World War II.
At the time of the film's release, it was nominated three Academy Awards, taking home the prize for Best Sound. Critics praised the musical aspects and performances in the film.
Showings on both days will be held at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets are available at Fandango.com.
