Robin Malone is coming on the Amarillo Independent School District Board of Trustees in a position that few people would envy.
Malone, an attorney and educator at Amarillo College, was recently selected by the Amarillo ISD Board of Trustees to replace longtime trustee James Allen following Allen’s abrupt resignation. Allen was arguably one of the most popular members of the board and was a trendsetter for many of the biggest issues to ever be tackled by the trustees.
Personally, I don’t know Robin Malone. I have no clue how she will vote as a trustee, but I do wish her the best of luck. She is in a position that few would envy at a time when the board will likely have even more controversial issues upcoming.
My advice for trustee Malone is to always work for the people and not the special interest groups. Amarillo citizens deserve real representation and I have hope that Robin Malone will deliver.
