Amarillo Fire Department Plans 9/11 Memorial Ceremony

Amarillo Fire Department officials are planning a 9/11 memorial ceremony next week.

On Tuesday, September 11th, the Amarillo Fire Department will host a memorial ceremony at the Texas Panhandle War Memorial (4101 S. Georgia Street) to recognize those who were killed in the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. The ceremony will mark the 17th anniversary of the attacks that claimed the lives of hundreds of first responders.

The ceremony will begin at 8:45am will an invocation. Amarillo Fire Department Pipes & Drums, Amarillo Police Department’s Rifle Team and Honor Guards of the Amarillo Fire Department and the Amarillo Police Department will participate in the event and a short speech will be delivered by Amarillo National Bank's William Ware.
