A new poll conducted by Telemundo Houston has Lupe Valdez and Beto O'Rourke leading Hispanic voters in the top two races on the Texas ballot.
According to the new poll, Hispanic voters surveyed across the state chose Democrat Beto O'Rourke as their favored candidate in the race for Texas' U.S. Senate seat. O'Rourke won 54 percent to Republican incumbent Ted Cruz's 31 percent. Libertarian Neal Dikeman pulled in 1 percent.
In the race for governor, Democrat Lupe Valdez has a narrower lead over the Republican incumbent. Valdez won 44 percent in the poll, versus Republican Greg Abbott's 38 percent. Libertarian Mark Tippetts won 2 percent.
The poll surveyed 625 Hispanic voters statewide. Voters will decide these races in November.
