Councilwoman Elaine Hays’ only announced challenger says he has a big campaign announcement coming soon.
Hayden Pedigo, a local credit union banker and viral video star, said on Facebook this week that he will have a “huge” campaign update coming out soon. Pedigo would not give specific details in an interview with the Amarillo Pioneer, but believes that his supporters will be pleased with the announcement.
“The Amarillo Globe-News hasn’t covered my campaign but a major media outlet did and it’s about to come out,” Pedigo said.
Pedigo has already been covered by Adult Swim and other national publications. However, he says the upcoming announcement will be “bigger than Adult Swim.”
The first-time candidate is running for the Place 1 seat on the City Council in the upcoming May election. Incumbent Elaine Hays has not yet said whether she will run for re-election. Filing for the election begins Wednesday.
