APD Locates 'Candy Shaped' Meth

Authorities located methamphetamine that was shaped like “Transformers” themed candy while serving a warrant this week.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, on October 10th, agents from the Amarillo Police Department Narcotics Unit served a warrant at an apartment located in the 1800 block of Wisdom Drive. Agents located evidence of marijuana and methamphetamine distribution, according to a news report. The methamphetamine discovered appeared to be in the form of vitamins or candy, having the appearance of a “Transformers” themed item, according to APD.

Authorities say that because the pills appear to be kid-friendly, they do pose a health hazard. If you notice any changes in your child’s behavior, you are asked to contact a medical provider and if any items are found matching the description of the pills, you are asked to contact your local law enforcement agency. Authorities say while these pills are shaped in this way, it is likely that they are being manufactured to avoid detection rather than to be kid-friendly.
