Businessman Chris Ekstrom has jumped in the race for the U.S. House District 13 seat.
Ekstrom announced his bid on Wednesday, making him the sixth candidate to join the Republican primary for the seat. Ekstrom is a businessman from the Dallas area, best known for his defense of historical markers and monuments in Texas.
The announcement by Ekstrom places him among a growing field of Republicans hoping to succeed outgoing incumbent Mac Thornberry. Democrat Greg Sagan is unopposed in his primary.
