Former El Paso Representative Beto O’Rourke will officially kick off his presidential bid in Texas this weekend.
O’Rourke, a Democrat, will host three rallies on Saturday, beginning with El Paso in the morning, also making stops in Houston and Austin. O’Rourke officially announced his bid on social media recently and has been making stops in early voting states like Iowa and Nevada, but has not yet visited Texas on his campaign tour.
Aside from O’Rourke, sixteen other candidates are already seeking the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination, or are exploring a bid for the party’s nomination. Former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julian Castro also joins O’Rourke as a Texan seeking the party’s nomination.
