Greg Sagan will be a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives next year.
Over the weekend, Sagan, an Amarillo Democrat, announced that he would be running for the U.S. House again in 2020. Sagan made the announcement at the Warford Activity Center in North Amarillo, setting the stage for a second congressional bid.
Sagan was previously the Democratic Party’s nominee for the U.S. House in 2018, falling short to Republican incumbent Mac Thornberry, with Libertarian Calvin DeWeese also appearing on the ballot. There is no word yet regarding whether Thornberry plans to run for re-election in 2020.
This announcement makes Sagan the first candidate for the District 13 race in 2020.
