The Amarillo Police Department is investigating an accident that occurred last night on Soncy Road.
According to APD, officers were dispatched around 5PM to a collision at 81st Avenue and Soncy Road. A 2014 BMW four door sedan, driven by a licensed juvenile, was northbound of Soncy, turning westbound onto 81st street. A 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 35 year old male, was southbond on Soncy. It is believed the driver of the BMW failed to yield right of way turning left and turned in front of the Chevrolet.
Both drivers suffered non-life threatening injuries. An 18 year old male passenger in the BMW was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. The BMW driver was also transported to a local hospital.
This incident remains under investigation by the APD Traffic Investigation Squad.
