Amarillo City Council Considering Spending $270k on Ordinance Review

The Amarillo City Council will consider voting next week to approve the review of one local ordinance.

According to an agenda posted to Amarillo.gov, on Tuesday, the City Council will consider hiring White & Smith LLC to conduct a review of Amarillo’s zoning ordinance. The review, if approved will also study other “related ordinances.” Taxpayers can expect a price tag of just shy of $270,000, if the City Council approves this purchase.

Also, during Tuesday’s meeting, the City Council will consider approving the acceptance of several grants and the purchase of a space study through Guernsey Engineers. That purchase will be funded by bond money approved by voters in 2016, and will carry a price tag of $77,650.

Council members will meet on Tuesday, March 12th at 1PM in the Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (601 S. Buchanan). The meeting will follow a public comment session at noon.
