Get ready to see more officers on the streets this Memorial Day.
According to the Amarillo Police Department, more officers will be on the streets this weekend thanks to a STEP (Selective Traffic Enforcement Program) grant provided by the Texas Department of Transportation.
The grant will help put more officers on the streets from Friday through Monday, with officers focused on enforcing traffic laws, especially on the lookout for intoxicated drivers, drivers violating the speed limit, and anyone failing to wear a seat belt.
