Local authorities will have more officers on the street this holiday weekend for traffic and DWI enforcement.
According to the Amarillo Police Department, extra officers will be on the road for the Labor Day holiday thanks to a Comprehensive Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grant from the Texas Department of Transportation. Grant-funded and regular patrol officers will be looking for seatbelt, speed, and alcohol violations this weekend.
APD asks that all drivers be safe and if you drink, officers ask that you do not drive.
