The two Texans in the race for president are calling for impeachment proceedings to begin against President Donald Trump.
On Wednesday, following former special counsel Robert Mueller’s press conference detailing his report, both former U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro called for impeachment proceedings to begin against Trump. O’Rourke had previously called for impeachment proceedings to begin while challenging Senator Ted Cruz last year, but the call was a relatively new one for Castro.
“Mueller made clear this morning that his investigation now lays at the feet of Congress,” Castro said. “No one is above the law—Congress should begin an impeachment inquiry.”
O’Rourke also released his feelings on the press conference in a tweet, mentioning what he called a “concerted attack on our political system.”
