APD Honors Retiring Officer

The Amarillo Police Department held a ceremony on Wednesday to honor Captain Tam Boatler as Boatler plans to retired.

According to APD, Boatler began his career with the local department in 1977, serving as a detective and investigator, and eventually being promoted to the rank of Captain in 2015. In February 2019, Boatler was promoted to the position of Captain for Training & Personnel.

In addition to his distinguished career, Boatler also holds degrees from Amarillo College and Wayland Baptist University.

Through a Facebook post, APD wished Boatler well on his retirement and his future endeavors to come.

“It is quite an achievement on your part to have sacrificed with sustaining loyalty and integrity to this department and the citizens it serves,” APD posted. “Thank you for your perseverance through these many years.”
