Amarillo Police are reporting that a series of false messages are spreading around social media platforms regarding threats of a shooting at a Wal-Mart location this weekend.
According to APD, messages on social media state that a law enforcement officer has shared information about a person or persons making threats of mass shootings at a Wal-Mart this weekend. While investigating the message, officers say similar messages were found on social media from other locations. Authorities say all agencies have found the claims to be false and that the messages appear to be a hoax.
