According to an agenda from the City of Amarillo, the City Council will vote to ratify the tax rate for the 2019-2020 fiscal year. The proposed tax rate of $0.3885 per $100 valuation will result in a tax revenue collections increase of over 7 percent for local taxpayers. Part of the increase will pay for debt service on existing debt-funded projects.

Also, during the meeting, the City Council will consider approving an order to commission a design of a proposed replacement of Thompson Park’s pool. The proposed contract will be awarded Schrickel Rollins | PSC for a proposed design of the aquatic facility. The contract will cost roughly $425,000.

The meeting will be held at 1PM on Tuesday, September 24th in the Council Chambers of Amarillo City Hall (601 South Buchanan).
