Retired Amarillo Fire Chief Passes

Retired Amarillo Fire Department Chief Curtis “C.V.” Richards has passed away.

According to AFD, Richards passed away on Sunday at the age of 87. Richards served with AFD for 42 years, including 23 years as fire chief. Amarillo Fire officials remembered Richards for prioritizing the growth and maintenance of the AFD’s fleet of trucks in a statement released this week.

A full-honors funeral for Richards will take on Saturday, January 18th at Trinity Fellowship Church (5000 Hollywood Road) at 11AM.
