Jason Mays has been selected as the new chief of the Amarillo Fire Department.
According to the City of Amarillo, Mays has been selected for the top role at the Fire Department after serving with AFD since March 1999. Prior to being selected as fire chief, Mays has served in a number of capacities at AFD, including as deputy chief of operations at AFD.
Mays will succeed Jeff Greenlee as fire chief and will thus become the tenth chief of the Amarillo Fire Department since its foundation in 1897.
