Kemp: I Choose to Remain Thankful

This year has taken a toll on many families in the Panhandle area, from the COVID-19 Pandemic to various other reasons.

I, for one, have lost my father, and many friends. That being said, I will choose to remain thankful.

I am thankful first to my Father God who has kept me under his protection and arms during a tough election, as well as throughout the hardships this year has brought. I am also thankful to my wife Mindy, and my family and friends who have helped me accomplish a goal that seemed impossible to some, to be elected as Sheriff at the age of 27, to become the youngest current serving Sheriff in Texas. I am thankful for our conservative roots in the Texas Panhandle, and for individuals who are willing to take the fight to those who threaten our country and push far left liberal policies. We are definitely in a fight to protect our conservative values, and I hope to be one who has an impact on preserving them.

As I prepare to take office on January 1st, I do not take lightly the position afforded to me by the voters of Hutchinson County. I will serve with humility and will strive to keep a transparent office and place integrity as the forefront of my service. I look forward to providing 24/7 Law Enforcement Coverage, and I look forward to taking a strong and firm approach to the methamphetamine and illicit drug trade in our county. My heart is to serve the people of our community, and I look forward to doing so wholeheartedly.

I want to wish everyone reading this a Happy Thanksgiving. I want to encourage all to remain vigilant, and to show love to those who may be in need this Christmas season.

Most of all, I want to encourage you all to pray for our nation, as we greatly need a move of God.

Blaik Kemp is a law enforcement officer and the Sheriff-elect for Hutchinson County, Texas.
