Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner has endorsed former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg for president.
This week, Turner announced his support for Bloomberg in the crowded Democratic primary race for president. The endorsement from Turner, who was recently re-elected to his job, is arguably Bloomberg’s biggest Texas endorsement to date.
As the race begins to come to Texas, Bloomberg has begun to make an investment of campaign resources in the state, including ad buys in several markets. A recent poll from the Texas Tribune has Bloomberg at fourth place with 10 percent in the state, behind Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, and Elizabeth Warren.
Texas voters will begin heading to the polls when early voting begins on Tuesday.
