Several voters took advantage of early voting in Potter and Randall Counties on Tuesday, casting the first votes in the March 3 primary election.
According to Potter County, 293 voters cast ballots during the first day of early voting, while 501 voters cast early ballots in Randall County. The total of nearly 800 ballots cast was anchored by big turnouts at the Randall County Annex, the Region 16 Education Support Center, and the Santa Fe Building in downtown Amarillo.
In addition, 168 mail-in ballots have been cast in Potter County, and 546 mail-in ballots have been cast in Randall County, as of this publication.
There is no word yet on the specific breakdown between Republican and Democratic primary ballots cast.
Voters will continue early voting through February 28.
